“Twirl began with a simple idea: imagining the movement of a metal corkscrew as it enters the cork and the line it generates.What interested me was the gesture behind it that precise, mechanical movement becoming something graphic and playful when translated into a visual language. A patternin continuous motion suggesting rotation, rhythm, and lightness. The name Twirl emerged naturally from this sense of movement playful, circular and continuous.The lines wrapping around Anna and Alessandro convey a feeling of perpetual motion. Theycircle the body in a way that animates the composition, giving the two figurines a vivid andalmost kinetic presence.Stripes, in all their forms, have always been one of my favourite motifs and have appearedthroughout many of my collections.I am particularly drawn to them in unexpected, vibrant colors, as they consistently bringboth structure and energy to every design.”

In the special Twirl version, Arthur Arbessertranslates the very movement of the corkscrew into a graphiclanguage, capturing the line that penetrates the cork andtransforming it into a vortex of colored stripes—a decoration thatcommunicates energy, rhythm, and lightness. This playful patternflows seamlessly over Alessandro M.’s clothes, while on Anna G.’sskirt, it holds a surprise: a geometric shift that transforms thestripe into a vibrant succession of diamonds, an unexpected detailthat enhances the dynamic sense of the entire composition.

The Anna G. Twirl and Alessandro M. Twirl Alessi corkscrews arelaunched as a capsule edition—a special, non-numbered series, availableexclusively for a limited period. A laser engraving on the collar of thecorkscrews indicates the author and the year of production.
